Chapin McCombs Chapin

Chapin McCombs Chapin is a new folk trio from singer/songwriter Cass McCombs and Abigail and Lily Chapin: The Chapin Sisters. The musicians first performed together in Sept 2014, when they helped lead the music block for the 400,000 person-strong People’s Climate March in New York and the follow-up Occupy action: Flood Wall Street. Since then they’ve played impromptu sets in assorted New York Irish pubs and a 2016 benefit for then presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders. The brought their shared love of folk and protest music, social justice and vocal harmonies together for a casual recording session in Echo Park which resulted in Fred Neil’s Dolphins, which recently appeared on Starbuck’s Nation of Us compilation, and Woody Guthrie and Martin Hoffman’s Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos), which appeared on Songs For Swing Left. They’re currently working on their first album. The Clearwater Festival will be their first official performance as a band, which they’re thrilled about considering their deep love and respect for the history of folk music, Pete Seeger and his dedication to the environment.
